CLAIM AND GRAB HOLD

Thank you for all the wonderful feedback regarding last week's interview with Natasha Yannacanedo. Based on your responses I will be doing more interviews regarding bankruptcies. If anyone has a story they would be willing to share please let me know. Natasha wanted to add: "One thing I should have said about the bankruptcy is I never thought of it--it was our accountant doing our taxes that suggested it to us, especially with the laws changing. We met with a lawyer friend of his and he convinced us it would be the best thing to do. If someone has less than $10,000 in debt though I would never recommend it and with the new laws I am not even sure if it is wise for someone with a lot of debt."

Please do your research and have a conversation with an informed professional to better ensure you are making the best decision for your situation.

Two weeks ago I spent Saturday at The Open Center's Open House. "The New York Open Center is a non-profit holistic learning center offering evening events, full-day workshops, on-going classes and advanced trainings." When I moved here almost 4 years ago, a friend took me there. I loved it the moment I walked in. The interesting array of books, the lingering smell of incense, beautiful hard wood floors and the smiles on the faces of those that worked there made me want to take a class right away. Excited, I opened the brochure, saw the prices and immediately closed it. I told myself, "I can't afford this." Four years later, another friend gave me the brochure and I opened it again. On the first page they were announcing their upcoming Open House allowing you to choose 5 of 10 classes that you could take for free. Last Sunday, I received a free Reiki session, a free salsa lesson, an amazing meditation and chanting session and I walked out of The Open Center feeling peaceful, awake and enlightened.

The good news is that the universe is only waiting to fulfill our dreams and needs so if we pass it by the first time, it'll return again and again until we are prepared to grab hold and claim it. Looking through the brochure this time, I noticed that most of their classes have a free introductory class and they have open house's at the beginning of each of their spring and fall semesters. They also have a wonderful volunteer program in exchange for taking the classes for free. The most amazing discovery was that the prices for the classes are reasonable and vary greatly! Four years ago my head was in a completely different place and now that I'm exploring ways to improve my business, expand on my natural ability of transformational coaching and wanting more consistent breaks from the noise and dirt of this amazing city, I was ready to open and explore "the brochure" when it was offered to me the second time. I'm amazed at all that I didn't see when I opened the brochure the first time. I used my familiar excuse called "lack of money" when in reality I just wasn't ready to journey within.

I invite you to visit www.opencenter.org to check out over 200 programs aiding in the exploration of journeying within. If you do not live in the New York area, many of the instructors travel and teach all over the world. If there is a class you are interested in, please call The Open Center or search online under the specific instructors name to see what other cities they will be appearing in or maybe you can be the host and invite them to come to your city!

The good news is that the universe is only waiting to fulfill our dreams and needs. Don't let your familiar excuses and circumstances fool you; when you are ready, the universe will present the opportunity right on time-it is up to you to claim it and grab hold!
